About

The growing value of Portland State University

At Portland State University, we understand and celebrate the enormous opportunity a college education represents in today’s competitive world. That’s why we never stand still.

We develop our programs to ensure our graduates are prepared to handle Oregon’s changing economy. We deliver knowledge online and offer credit for prior learning when the demand for education stretches beyond the traditional classroom. We partner with more than 500 businesses and organizations to give our students real-world experience and serve our community.

And as Oregon changes, we believe that our diversity makes us stronger. Forty percent of our freshmen are students of color, making PSU the most diverse university in the state.

These are some of the reasons I’m pleased to share my annual President’s Progress Report. Please take a few

The past year has been one of solid achievements and continuing national recognition for PSU. For the third year running, U.S. News & World Reportnamed us among the top 10 up-and-coming universities in the nation. Our research has had global reach, from exposing the health risks of e-cigarettes to bringing clean water to millions in Africa.

We expect an even better 2015. Students already are benefiting from state-of-the-art labs and technology in the new Collaborative Life Sciences Building. Designs and funding are in hand to begin work on the new Viking Pavilion, which will become an education and multi-event center, and on a renovated and expanded School of Business Administration.

I encourage you to read about our progress, and visit our campus and see it for yourself. Better yet—enroll! You will be impressed with what you find.

After the link to the President’s Progress Report, there is an incomplete sentence: “Please take a few”

After the reference to U.S. News & World Report, there needs to be a space: “U.S. News & World Reportnamed”

I also note that the time displayed on my comment is 5:47pm. That is likely Greenwich mean time. There should be a way with wordpress to set the timezone to Pacific Standard Time.
